"I love that I help clients feel valued and relaxed - I want to make sure they finish their treatment with a greater sense of calm and well-being "
I grew up in the foothills of the Himalayas, in Nepal. As a young girl I loved doing my friends nails and their beauty treatments. I took a basic beauty course in Kathmandu as a teenager, but being insatiably curious I wanted to explore further afield and so in 1998 I moved to the bustling metropolis of New York. During my time in New York I really developed my skill set- doing mostly nails and grooming in the high end spas of Lower Manhattan. I worked for the popular editorial manicurist Jin Soon Choi for nearly five years and supervised one of her spas. I had many celebrity clients and worked on various events including New York Fashion Week. It was an exciting place to work, but in 2007 I wanted a new challenge so I decided to move to London.
I worked primarily as a nail technician at Bliss Spa for eleven years. I was a core member of their nail team, training new staff and developing a strong client base. I also undertook my National Vocational Qualification in Beauty, completing both Levels 1 and 2 while working at Bliss Spa. In 2017 I moved to Grace Belgravia where I worked until early 2018. I joined Urban Retreat at the White House from its opening in the summer of 2019.
Outside of work, I like being involved in charity projects. Following the terrible earthquake in Nepal in 2015, I raised money to help victims and survivors of the earthquake, travelling to Nepal to provide on the ground assistance to those people. This included buying books, uniforms and sports equipment for school children and buying homeware items for people who had lost all of their belongings.
