What is semi-permanent makeup?
Semi-permanent makeup (also known as micro-pigmentation) is a form of temporary cosmetic tattooing which creates long-lasting makeup-like looks by delicately injecting tiny pigments beneath the skin’s surface. This technique is used to enhance your natural beauty or create features on the face such as eyebrows, eyes, and lips.
What are the most common type of Semi-permanent makeup treatments?
Powdered Brows: Eyebrow shaping can make a huge difference to your face. Through using the correct shape and style, a great brow can help to frame your face through adding expression, warmth, and depth. This treatment involves adding powdery and pixelated wash of colour behind the brow to add depth, structure, and definition to the brows. It is often used to fill in sparse or thinning eyebrow hair, or to create perfectly shaped eyebrows.
Lip Blush: Mother Nature can’t bless us all with the perfect pout, which is why semi-permanent lip makeup is a fabulous alternative to get full, luscious lips, without having to undergo surgical procedures. This is a great option for those who struggle to apply lipstick or lip gloss evenly, or for people with naturally thin lips. It enhances the beauty of natural lip colour, improves the shape of the lips, and gives definition and the illusion of fullness. This can be subtle or bold and tailored to the clients’ needs.
Semi-permanent eyeliner: Bright and defined eye makeup can help to create a fresh and youthful appearance. What is more, our eyes are the main focus in our body language as they show our human connection and expression. This treatment consists in tattooing the skin around your eyes is a great way to enhance their appearance and make makeup application easier. It can be used to achieve a defined cat-eye shape, fill in gaps in your lash line, give you a permanent eyeliner look, or cover up any undesired features of your natural eyeliner.
Beauty Spots: women throughout history have understood the power and mystery of the beauty spot. With semi-permanent makeup, the beauty spot is so natural only you will know. Extremely popular just above the lip, or high on the cheekbone.
Scar camouflage: We currently don’t offer this treatment, but semi-permanent makeup can provide reconstructive camouflage and injects neutral colour ink to simulate your own skin tone and can be used to help conceal scars caused by trauma, surgery, or skin conditions like cgo.
How long does semi-permanent makeup last?
The length of time that semi-permanent make up will last depends on a variety of factors, including the type and colour of pigment used, and how well you take care of it in the days and weeks following your procedure. However, most clients find that their semi-permanent makeup remains vivid for between one and three years. You will likely start to notice the pigment fade slowly after that time.
Does cosmetic tattooing hurt?
The pain level associated with cosmetic tattooing varies depending on the type of procedure, the area of the procedure, as well as your individual pain tolerance. Ultimately, while some clients may experience some minimal discomfort during the procedure, most people do not find it to be any more painful than getting a regular tattoo. That said, many technicians will offer clients numbing cream or anaesthetic injections to help minimise pain, as do we.
What are the benefits of semi-permanent makeup?
Semi-permanent and permanent cosmetic treatment offers many advantages, including saving you time on your morning makeup routine, creating hair-like strokes in eyebrows, helping to camouflage skin conditions and imperfections, and making your makeup look more natural and flawless.
